Kristin A. Blackman focuses her practice on contractual, corporate and regulatory compliance matters.
She partners closely with our franchisor clients to provide guidance throughout all phases of the franchise lifecycle, including helping new franchisors issue their initial franchise disclosure documents, helping them navigate various federal and state regulations to ensure their franchises remain compliant and counseling them on franchisee-relationship issues when they arise.
She also provides strategic legal counsel to our franchisor and franchisee clients on a diverse range of topics including real estate, franchise and licensing, and governmental affairs and works tirelessly to represent their interests in complex contractual negotiations.
Prior to joining Marks & Klein, LLP, Kristin served as Assistant General Counsel and Director of Compliance at Aramark, a Fortune 200 company that provides managed food and facilities services to a diverse portfolio of private and public sector clients. During the nearly ten years she was at Aramark, she counseled corporate clients on various commercial, procurement and regulatory matters and led a number of strategic initiatives to reduce risk and drive compliance. Before joining Aramark, she was attorney with the Real Estate practice group at Morgan, Lewis & Bockius LLP where she handled various types of commercial property transactions.
Kristin graduated summa cum laude from Villanova School of Law where she received her Juris Doctor and Masters of Business Administration. She received her undergraduate degree from Boston College, where she graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in Finance and Marketing. Kristin is admitted to practice in the State of New Jersey and the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
