Robert B. Ginsburg

Rob practices in the Illinois offices of Marks & Klein. Rob’s practice focuses on general business and litigation matters. Rob also practices in the area of franchise law where he works with franchisors and franchisees in connection with transactional and litigation matters.

Previously, Rob worked as compliance counsel in Chicago for Aon’s Latin American Compliance and Legal Group, where he focused on negotiating and drafting contracts between parent companies, foreign subsidiaries and third party partners. Prior to Aon, Rob worked as an international dispute resolution practitioner for Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer in Washington, DC and the Office of the Legal Adviser at the U.S. Department of State. In this capacity, Rob represented the U.S. government in disputes filed against it by foreign investors under NAFTA and worked on behalf of foreign investors embroiled in disputes against Latin American governments.

Prior to attending law school, Rob worked for AON and ACE insurance as an international risk management broker and underwriter. While working in the insurance industry, Rob identified the risks associated with his clients’ investments in foreign markets and negotiated/underwrote insurance programs to manage them.

Rob received his law degree in December 2009 from Georgetown University Law Center. In addition to his Juris Doctor, Rob earned a master’s degree in International Relations from the School of International Service at American University.

Rob is admitted to practice law in Illinois and Washington, DC.

Rob is fluent in Spanish.
